Do you know what that makes you?? Lollygaggers!...lollygaggers.
So, I watched Bull Durham yesterday while I was supposed to be doing homework. It was a marvelous distraction. :) The end. Now on to the real stuff.
So, I figured I'd stop in here and post, since I've been doing a crap job of that lately. And especially since I've been told that my one true love, Brak, would be ashamed of the absence of any sort of recent post. Sad.
So.....what's new??
For me? Not so much. Lots of working at my wonderful desk job. I worked 30 hours last week, on top of my 18 credit course load. That's not so much fun for me. I'm finding more and more difficult to convince myself that all of this junk that I"m doing is worthwhile. I just want some free time!! Is that too much to ask??
So, last Friday, for one of my classes we were required to get up at 5 in the freakin morning so we could hop on a bus at 6 and head to the cities to observe an inner city school. Does anyone know what that was? The biggest waste of my precious time.....especially sleep time. And pretty offensive as well. What they did was get a bunch of minority kids to come stand in front of us while a bunch of middle aged, middle class, white adults tried to explain to us what "black culture" was. For all of us redneck hicks you know. I'm not sure what these people were thinking, but seriously, it was like the "parade of the minorities for whitey." I felt bad for the kids. If I were them, I would have felt vaugly like I was in a zoo.
On the plus side, me and my roommies have instituted a Sunday evening tradition of grilling out for dinner, hanging out with friends, and then heading over to G-6 (my buddies Mitch and Hybbert's place) for Sunday Night Cartoons!! I have to admit, the Venture Bros. was pretty good last night. As was the very beginning of ATHF (Aqua Teen Hunger Force, for those less enlightened). Dr. Weird is awesome :)
But now, it is time to get ready for another grueling week of classes I hate and tedious mindless work. But don't worry, I'm not burnt out and pessimistic at all ;)
