This blog is in the middle of a restructuring, and a focusing. Will it be about my baking projects?? Will it be about my life as a student? Who knows??

Wedding-palooza

So, I've just been checking other people's blogs and getting upset that no one has posted anything new for my entertainment, and I've realized that I've probably been the worst of anyone recently. It's been over a month since I've posted, after all. Shame on me.

Like the title indicates, recently, I've found myself in the midst of wedding-palooza. In the next four or five weeks, I'm standing up in two weddings, so my life recently seems to be immersed in wedding stuff. Not nearly as much as Court's and Alyssa's lives, but even so. I went to Alyssa's bridal shower last week, which was actually a pretty good time as far as bridal showers go. They're not really my favorite thing in the world, but Alyssa's sister did a really good job making it a good time for most people involved. I'm driving home tonight, to prepare for another bridal shower and a bachelorette party on Saturday, so that should be an interesting experience. Then, there's a week off, and then it's Court's wedding. Another week break and then it's Alyssa's wedding. And then it's July!! Where does the time fly? I certainly don't know.

To expand more on the wedding theme as of late, I ran into a couple of girls at Alyssa's shower that I haven't seen since I graduated high school and found out that both of them are getting married. Crazy! It seems like everyone and their dog are getting married soon. Am I really old enough for all of that to happen?? I suppose. I am 22. Huh. Weirdness. Pretty soon babies will start happening, and I don't even know what to make of that.

What else is new in my life? Hmm...I actually got to see Marvin a couple weekends ago for my birthday!! We met half-way in Nebraska (now there's a sentence you won't hear very often) and he got to aquire some of his belongings that I'm sure he misses being out in Colorado without a whole lot of anything. Like cooking utensils...and a vacuum cleaner. All very vital things. It was the best thing I could have hoped for on my birthday. Since, at that point I hadn't seen him for two months. And I'll get to see him again in a couple of weeks for Courtney's wedding. :) It'll be so much Marvin I won't even know what to do with myself.

Speaking of Marvin, I'm not sure I've posted since life got crazy and interesting for him! In late April he got a job offer with the Pacific Coast League for triple A minor league baseball. It was a great opportunity for him even though it didn't pay very much, so he took it. Well, a couple of weeks later, the Paralympics called and offered him a job for about 40% more than he was making with the PCL, PLUS better benefits, PLUS an opportunity to maybe travel to Italy. Needless to say, he accepted that pretty quickly. So, it looks like he's a permanent Colorado Springs resident now. Exciting for him! Kind of rough as far as the distance between the two of us goes, but I'm hoping that the distance can only be an temporary thing. That'd be a positive thing. In any case, I personally think that anyone would be a fool to not hire him, so I think it was about darn time he got some job offers. I'm pretty proud of him.

In other ridiculous, non important news, I got the Brak Show DVDs!! Hilarious I tell you! Witnessing the adventures of Brak and Zorak is a pretty entertaining pass-time. I particularily like the episode where Brak and Zorak go back in time to the day that homework was invented to prevent its invention, so that they can go to a restaurant called Fish-Pockets instead of doing homework. Or the one where Brak has a stuffed lobster that he calles Hippo. That's pretty good. In any case, it's ridiculous and entertaining.

Another good viewing chance I got was a movie called I Heart Huckabees. Now, I'm not going to reccommend it to everyone, because it's kind of off beat, and not everyone will appreciate it the way that I do. BUT, having been a philosophy student for a couple of years, and since the movie has to do with a couple of existential detectives, I think it's hilarious. My personal favorite line goes something like "Have you ever transcended space and time"..."No...Yes...Space not time...No I don't know what you're talking about." Ok..I know...kind of off beat. Funny to me though.

Well, that's probably enough for now. Hopefully I'll get better about posting. We'll see how that goes. This is Sausage Mahoney signing off.
