Murphy's law = When sleeping space is needed, it will be there!
Ok, now that I've got a week in between myself and that crazy annoying experience at the movie theater, maybe I can give you an acutal update about my life. If anyone still reads this.
So, a couple weekends ago, my parents came out here for a visit. It really was a great time. When they got here, they got the chance to check out the condo that Marvin and I are going to be renting this next year (which is AWESOME!!! I'll tell you about it later). We spent the rest of their time here hiking and eating pretty much. We ended up grilling out their last night here, and that was a really fun time. We opened up a bottle of wine that Marvin brought back from Italy, and just relaxed and enjoyed each other's company. I think that was my favorite time of their whole visit.
As mentioned, Marvin and I are renting a new place for this next year. We just signed the lease yesterday, and (in the words of a co-worker of mine) this place is PIMP! It's got a HUGE jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. It's got a murphy bed in the second bedroom (which, in case you guys don't know, is one of those beds that pulls out of the wall). Vaulted ceilings, a fireplace, solar heat panels on the roof, a covered parking space, an actual dining room, a much better kitchen (with a trash compactor, that I have no idea how to use), two decks, AND it's in an AWESOME neighborhood. It's right across the street from a park. It's within a couple of blocks of Old Colorado City. We move in on the 20th, and I'm SO excited!!!! No more of this one bedroom apartment in the ghetto crap. Anyways, if anyone is interested in coming out here and checking this place out, we'll have room for you! We'll just pull the bed out of the wall!!! :)
As far as work goes, life isn't quite so rosy. I'm majorly stressed out about this place. I'm thinking that by the time school starts in the fall, I'm going to want a new job that pays better and isn't quite so taxing on my psyche. My boys are getting more and more toxic as far as the way they treat each other and me. A manager caught one of them cutting on himself a few days ago when no one was watching him. (I had specifically asked one staff member to keep an eye on him). It's just getting to be too much. Marvin and I watched Hostage (Bruce Willis movie) last night, and I could hardly stand it, because the kids that took the family hostage reminded me of kids that I know. I don't like that. I think it's time for me to maybe find a job that I can work with kids that don't have so many issues. It's not that I don't love my boys, and it's not that I think that kids with issues don't deserve as much love as kids that don't, it's just that I'm not sure I've got the strength to deal with it for an extended period of time.
Anyways, onwards and upwards. I don't think I've mentioned much about Marvin's trip and return to Italy. He left for Italy about a month ago to work at the Paralympics in Torino for about two weeks. We didn't get a whole lot of time to chat while he was there, but it sounds like it was a really cool experience for him. He came back with a bunch of Italian chocolate and some Italian wine, and A BEARD!! :) Surprisingly, I think it looks pretty good on him. So, now there is facial hair. Ha ha. :)
So, I think I should try to get something accomplished today, so I'm off. Someone come visit me!!
